Marine Hermit Crab

Marine Hermit Crabs inhabit most of Belize's coastline. They can be found most often in the late evening and night. During the day they take shelter from the sun. Hermit Crabs do not grow a shell themselves but instead look vacant conch or other empty shells to move into and make their own. As they grow they crab must leave the shell they currently occupy and find a new larger shell to occupy. This occurs throughout the crab's life.
